Pizza before 10:00AM?

Do you do (or eat) what’s right in front of you because it’s there, rather than assessing whether it helps you reach your goals? This week my friend shares a 3-step approach to focusing on what matters most…

One of the stops on the Drive It Yourself Tour my husband and I went on last month was a pizza place.

AND – they gave out FREE pizza to all who stopped.

They were our first stop . . . so Lou ate 2 pieces of pizza at 10:00.

The next stop was a bakery . . . they gave out free cookie samples and a piece of cassata cake.

Lou had 2 pieces of cassata cake.

Then . . . was a stop with donuts, and maple hot dogs, and homemade chips, and  . .  .

You get the point.

At one point, I asked him if he was still hungry (since he’d been eating pretty much non-stop all morning). His reply? “No, not really, but it was there!”

Kind of like how you approach your time management, right?

You do what’s right in front of you instead of looking at what’s most important. You do it. . . well, because it’s there!

Umm . . . is this the way you want to approach your life?

Or would you rather make sure each day is filled with your priorities?

Where you focus on the activities that move you closer to your goals. . . not just the ones that pop up right in front of you?

Here’s how you can . . .

  • Be super clear on your goals (these goals will guide your actions).
  • Make sure EVERYTHING on your to-do list relates to those goals.
  • Identify your top three actions for the day the night before – so you don’t get distracted by shiny objects!
